Details and briefs from GO, Greater Portland's Entertainment Weekly:
Barnet shows at new Veilleux space
Tom Veilleux Gallery had been open in Farmington for more than 30 years. Earlier this month, Veilleux moved his gallery to 75 Market St. in Portland.
The gallery's first show following the opening exhibit pays homage to 95-year-old artist Will Barnet. "Paintings and Works on Paper" opens Tuesday with an artist's reception from 5 to 7 p.m.
Barnet is an icon in the art world, known for his introspective figurative paintings. His show at the Tom Veilleux Gallery runs through Sept. 15. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Call 828-0784 or go to www.tomveilleux.com for more information. |
