Cheese Grater Experience

The Cheese Grater Experience comes back with a new name and new songs!

My band, The Cheese Grater Experience, has reemerged as Tony Smokes and the Ladykillers, a four-piece alternative rock band straight out of South Portland! Well, I'm sure the part about us being from South Portland has been clarified before, but it just sounded cool.

With the change of our name, we are going into a more rock-oriented direction, but that is not to say we are leaving our original eccentricity behind! We also went separate ways with our beloved keyboardist, so we wish him the best in his musical endeavors.

The most important part about our band is that we have new songs, and we have a special preview of them prepared for you in the form of a Youtube concert titled "The Youtube Concert". Enjoy!

Great Cheese Grater Experience News!

Well, I have officially graduated from South Portland High School, and now I'm free to begin my musical summer.

My band got together last week to do some pretty amazing stuff. We got a drummer. We wrote new songs. We performed new songs. We got new fans. We made t shirts and sold some of them. It was a pretty good week.

We decided that we should have a drummer for the band to sound more legit, so we recruited our friend, Ally Falconer, to play drums for us, and she has added so much to our sound and appearance. We're all really glad to have her as an addition to the Cheese Grater family.

The Cheese Grater Experience was asked to write and perform the class song for the entire Class of 2007 at the senior final breakfast. We made the song in two days, practiced it for two days, and then played at the breakfast. The song is called "The Final Panic Revelation", and it got great reception from most of the class. It is a 10 minute, 3 movement-long rock ballad.

Our awesomeness didn't stop there, though.

Here's a little about my band...

My band is called The Cheese Grater Experience, Version 5. Featuring Major Vader. The band was started with three friends, my brother, and me pulling a midnight improv jam in January. My three friends and I are the musicians in the band, and my brother is the exclusive dance member (Major Vader). We don't play a particular style of music. So far we have ranged from rock to new wave to folk.
