Roma, a dark, old- fashinoned place housed in an elegant Victorian building on Congress Street, consistently wins this category. It's been there, in one form or another, since 1924.
But the Audubon Room made strong showings in several categories this year, and any play that is situated along the dramatic windswept beaches and dunes of Cape Elizabeth has to be romantic. Don't you think? A great place for a walk after dinner, anyway.

What is required for a romantic atmosphere? Where else can you have romantic dining when these places are booked?
