The Bob Charest Band, which does well every year, is a party band led by pianist and vocalist Bob Charest. They do weddings, fundraisers, big events. They played the governor's inaugural in January. Sly-Chi is a band with a big sounding horn section known for soul and funk. They do both covers and originals, and play places like the Lava Lounge and the Big Easy in Portland.
