Fore Street, Portland 115
Hugo's, Portland 105
The first of some very close 1-2 races in the poll this year. Perennial winner Fore Street can boast chef Sam Hayward, whose national reputation includes a James Beard Award. Sort of like an Oscar for cooking. But Hugo's chef Rob Evans also has a reputation for creativity and quality. So for Portland diners, it's really win-win. DiMillo's, the floating restaurant on Portland Harbor, was in third place this year while Street & Co., a place that is known for creative fish, came in fourth.
