Based on the indie rock sounds of Dinosaur Jr. and the traditional sounds of Son Volt, 9th Rail was formed by in 2007. The rhythm section is heavily based in jazz and rock and the old time folk/blues influences of front man and RO4UNO participant Dan Nelson. 9th Rail has performed at The Station in Portland and for a sold-out crowd at The Theatre Project in Brunswick.
