Capriccio
Sept. 4-17
Ogunquit's annual arts celebration, Capriccio, runs Monday through Sept. 17. Highlights of this year's event include a production of "The Red Shoes" by the Bossov Ballet Theatre, poetry readings, a tango demonstration and dancing, author readings, art exhibitions, workshops, movies, concerts and the ever-popular Festival of Kites. City Theater

Four actors at Biddeford's City Theater zoom through all 37 of William Shakespeare's plays in the comedic play "The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (abridged)." The 90-minute performances take place Friday through Sunday and Sept. 15-16. Call 282-0849 for tickets.

Good Night Nature
Sept. 13-14
Children ages 3-6 are invited to Maine Audubon to listen to the bedtime story "When the Moon is High" on Wednesday or Thursday, Sept. 14. There'll be snacks and activities, too. Kids are encouraged to wear their pajamas. They must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations required. Call 781-2330, Ext. 215.

'Grandma Drove the Truck'

For the children's story hour at Borders Books and Music in South Portland Wednesday morning, author Katie Clark reads from her book, "Grandma Drove the Truck," Published by Down East Books, "Grandma Drove the Truck" is the story of a grandmother who runs her community's garbage business. When all three of her sons, who drive the garbage trucks, are all too sick to work, grandma and her grandson Billy, make a hilarious run through town.
